Tom Brady's $200 89-recipe cookbook sold out

It is most remarkable that price tag of $200 is unable to deter Tom Brady fans even the slightest as they all mobbed bookstores to get they hands on the NFL Star’s new cookbook.

The 89-recipe tome, snappily titled the TB12 Nutrition Manual was described on the New England Patriots quarterback’s official website as being printed on 100-pound text paper with covers made from natural wood that include laser etching.

It describes its culinary offering as a “limited-edition ‘living document’ containing information about our core TB12 nutritional philosophies and featuring a library of 89 seasonally-inspired recipes that you can use to support your TB12-aligned nutrition plan.”

Much in the spirit of commercialism too, the description on the site also added, “Please note also that as we periodically update this manual with new or modified recipes, we will send additional pages to all purchasers of the manual.”

Essentially, anyone who buys it will receive additional pages with new or modified recipes until Brady runs out of culinary ideas.

Brady himself also posted a picture from the book on his Facebook page, calling it “another step toward achieving your peak performance.” But all copies are final sale. “Please note that due to its unique content and binding, all sales of the TB12 Nutrition Manual are final sale – the manual cannot be returned or exchanged.”

The book proved to be a big hit as it already ran out of stock, and further copies will only be made available after another month or so. But it wasn’t even the most expensive book written by a member of his family. His wife Gisele Bundchen had written a $700 coffee-table book last November, which sold out too.

Either way, Brady would have plenty of time to perfect his skills and maybe come up with a second cookbook, as he is set to miss the first four games of the next NFL season after his Deflategate ban was upheld last month.

Peyton Manning retires, ends illustrious career at 39

After 18 years of NFL, five MVP awards and a second Super Bowl trophy with the Broncos, Peyton Manning will be hanging up his boots at the age of 39.

The quarterback made four Super Bowl trips, and will retire with a galore of honors, such as the NFL’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns (539), passing yards (71,940) and quarterback wins (186, tied with Brett Favre).

Manning, who played his first 14 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, was a first-ballot Hall of Famer before spinal fusion surgery caused him to miss the 2011 season.

Transferring to the Broncos on a free agent in 2012, the Sheriff had the most prolific season of any quarterback in history in 2013. The Broncos, under his lead made two Super Bowl trips in Manning’s final three seasons. Manning would also follow in Elway’s footsteps, retiring as a Super Bowl winner.

However, his retirement comes after a season with under-fire performance from Manning. Nonetheless, the Denver Broncos team still managed to get by, trumping the Carolina Panthers by 24-10 at Super Bowl 50.

But as news of his retirement starts to spread, virtually every other personality from either the sports or entertainment world has come forward to acknowledge and pay tribute to one of NFL’s all-time greats.

Even his longtime-rival, New England Patriot’s Tom Brady tweeted to congratulate Manning on an incredible career and his honor to have played against the Sheriff, and to acknowledge the achievements man who had changed the NFL game.

Tom Brady and the Patriots stay undefeated.

The New England Patriots will stay undefeated and improves to 9-0 after a close win from Stephen Gostkowski’s 54-yard field goal at 1 second remaining.

It was the best of National Football League, as the New England Patriots and New York Giants went toe to toe for the full 60 minutes on Sunday at MetLife Stadium, and entertained in a highly competitive, highly charged matchup that felt like a playoff game.

After Josh Brown made his fourth field goal of the game with 1:47 remaining, Tom Brady drove the Patriots 44 yards, converting a fourth-and-10 on the series.

Gostkowski, the NFL’s leading scorer the last three seasons, sent his winning kick soaring through the uprights.

The Giants (5-5) have given the Patriots fits under Tom Coughlin and nearly pulled off another victory.

But New England proved unbeatable with field goals only, and a 5-yard pass to Odell Beckham Jr. on New York’s final drive was originally called a touchdown, then reversed by a video review.

Both Beckham and New England’s Rob Gronkowski had the longest TD catches of their careers: Beckham for 87 yards and Gronkowski for 76.

Nonetheless, there may be obstacles ahead for the Patriots.

Their number one receiver Julian Edelman left the game on the final play of the first quarter with a left foot injury and did not return.

Edelman slammed his helmet to the ground when he came off the field; and when it comes to players the Patriots can least afford to lose, Edelman is arguably right there behind quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski.

The Patriots would also host the Buffalo Bills who had just beaten the New York Jets by 22-17 as visitors. The team will be well rested following four consecutive days of R&R.
