Barca makes comeback with a bang

Barcelona makes an explosive comeback in the La Liga, as the Catalonians scores eight past Deportivo La Coruna whilst keeping their clean sheet to end a 3-game losing streak.

Luis Suarez scores four and contributes three assists for the team, earning a two-goal advantage before half time as he scores in the 11th and 24th minutes, volleying home an Ivan Rakitic cross and then adding a second with a first-time finish with the help of a stylish tee-up from Lionel Messi.

Barca then registered six more goals in the second half, as Suarez reversed roles and crossed one in for a Rakitic volley. He then scored his third thanks to another Messi assist, and tapped in his forth after his shot was denied but bounced off Deportivo keeper Manu.

The Uruguayan then set up Messi to tap in from inside the box in the 73rd minute before defender Marc Bartra scores Barca’s seventh.

The center-back, who made his fourth league start to replace a banned Gerard Pique, powered his way through Deportivo’s defence and into the area before producing a confident finish into the far corner in the 79th minute.

But there was still time for Barca to deal further damage. Junior Neymar takes the tally to eight as the Brazilian turned another pass by Suarez in at the near post to complete the demolition.

There will be no doubts that sighs of relief as Barcelona recovered from their slump, but they can ill-afford to relax as fellow Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid registered their own wins.

Fernando Torres continues his strong form by scoring his fifth goal in as many matches in Atletico’s 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao. Real Madrid meanwhile showed that they were not under pressure as they eased into a 3-0 home win over Villareal.

But the top three will have to stay their best to keep up pressure on each other in their race for the title; they can ill afford to slip up as just one point separates them. Their next matches will be played on Saturday, as Real makes a trip to Rayo Vallecano, Atletico and Barca will host Malaga and Sporting Gijon, respectively.
