Ryan Wilson excluded from Scotland squad

Ryan Wilson had been excluded from Scotland’s Six Nations squad, but not for allegedly grabbing the testicles of an opponent in a game.

Tim Swinson was another cited player in the same match, where Northampton Saints defeated Glasgow by 19-15 in the European Champions Cup.

However, Swinson retained his place in the squad.

Uncapped Zander Fagerson and Rory Sutherland have also been named in Scotland’s 35-man squad for the Six Nations

“We made a decision with Ryan before he was cited,” said Scotland coach Vern Cotter.

“We’re happy with the way he has been improving but we feel that the [other] players are playing better than he is at the moment.”

Explaining his choices of players, he described Rory as “impressive with the quality to become an international player” and that Zander was “exceptional with competitive desire.

Scotland would begin the Six Nations championship at home playing against England, and will visit Wales and Italy soon after.

Cleveland Cavaliers annihilated by the Warriors

Cleveland Cavaliers and basketball legend LeBron James suffered a devastating defeat at the hands of the Golden State Warriors by 132-98.

There was significant anticipation towards the build-up of the match, as it was a fight between last season’s champions (Warriors) and finalist.

The Warriors were coming off a loss to the Detroit Pistons, but the team showed no sign of morale breakdown.

It simply turned out to be a night to forget for LeBron James as the Warriors, led by NBA MVP Steph Curry, overcompensated and ran riot at the Q arena.

Their dominance proved too much for James at one point, with the superstar losing his composure in an off-the-ball tussle with Curry who ended up being grappled to the floor.

The Cavaliers trailed by a huge gap of 43 points after the fourth quarter, the largest point difference and defeat James had ever suffered in his long career.

Rafael Nadal knocked out of Australian Open

Rafael Nadal was disqualified from the Australian Open as fellow Spaniard Fernando Verdasco stunned the former world no.1 in a match of five sets.

Both left-handed compatriots produced a match filled with hard hits that thrilled every spectator for over 4 hours and 40 minutes.

Verdasco saved a break point to prevent going 3-0 down in the decider, going on to win 7-6 (8-6) 4-6 3-6 7-6 (4-7) 6-2.

He hit 90 winners and 20 aces at Nadal, who afterwards explained that “He played better than me.”

This marked the third time Nadal was unable to make it to the second week of a Grand Slam event, a far cry from his one Grand Slam per year decade.

He failed to get past the quarter-finals of his virtually franchised French Open last summer.Dustin Brown then eliminated him in the second round at Wimbledon, and Fabio Fognini put him out of the US Open.
