Guardiola apologises to Premier League managers

Pep Guardiola, manager of Bayern Munich apologized as he put managers under pressure by announcing his intention to move into the Premier League next season.

Speaking at Bayern’s winter training camp in Doha, he said he was “sorry” if his comments were disrespectful.

“It was not my intention to offend anybody,” the former player said.

“Normally in my car eer as a trainer and as a player, I respect my colleagues a lot.”

The Spaniard has revealed that he will be leaving the Bundesliga giant, and had since received a number of offers from English clubs.

However, Guardiola did not reveal his future employers, saying that he would only name them after an agreement or contract is reached.

“I don’t know. Of course I’m focused on Bayern Munich, but this doesn’t change the fact that I will be training a team next season.”

Guardiola is the most coveted manager in the game, winning 14 trophies with Barcelona and 5 with Bayern Munich, and is poised to win another Bundesliga title with Bayern as they distanced themselves from second placed Borussia Dortmund by 8 points.

It is an incredible record for him; for every 18 matches he has coached, he has won a trophy.

Gareth Bale denied any transfer rumors surrounding him with Manchester United, insisting that he is ‘happy’ at Real Madrid.

Reports that the Welshman would change sides and return to the Premier League was sparked as Zinedine Zidane took over as head coach of Real Madrid.

Bale said Benitez’s exit was a “huge disappointment” as his hat-trick help Real beat Deportivo La Coruna by 5-0.

“But I’m enjoying my football at the moment so I’ll keep going,” contradicted Bale.

The Wales international received a standing ovation after scoring his tenth goal in seven games.

He also said that Real and France legend Zidane inspired him during his formative years.

“As a player he was incredible,” said Bale. You try and emulate people like that. He’s a legend not just at the club, but for football.

“We had a chat when he first came in, and no matter what I’ll always give 100% on a football pitch and that’s what I did.”

In the meantime, Bale did not rule out a return to the Premier League where he used to play for Tottenham before his world-record £85m move to Real in September 2013.

“Obviously you can never predict what happens in the future,” he said.

Real’s win over Deportivo moved them to within two points of second-placed Barcelona and four shy of leaders Atletico Madrid.

Bale believes he and his team-mates can continue the team’s upward trajectory.

“We know what can happen in the league, we know we have to keep fighting all the way and we’ll keep doing that until the last whistle,” Bale added.

Former NFL Star found dead in prison

Former NFL Star Lawrence Philips was found dead in his California prison cell under mysterious circumstances.

Officials suspected that Philips, 40, took his own own life.

In the 1990s, he was a star player at the University of Nebraska, making him a sought-after rookie in the NFL.

Phillips played for the St Louis Rams, Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers until 1999, but his career was marred with disciplinary problems on and off the field.

Eventually, he was sent to prison after being convicted of assault for driving his car into a group of teenagers.

In another case, he was convicted of assaulting a former girlfriend.

Phillips, who was serving a term of more than 30 years, had been placed under solitary confinement after he was accused of killing his former cellmate.

On Tuesday, a judge found that there was enough evidence to try Phillips on the death of Damion Soward, 37.

“He was an intelligent person and had some good qualities,” Tom Osborne, his coach at Nebraska said.

“Yet he had some anger issues and couldn’t overcome the demons in his life.”
