Guardiola will not renew contract with Bayern

Pep Guardiola will not be renewing his managerial contract with Bayern Munich, according to Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Guardiola’s departure had been confirmed by Bayern Munich, but he has yet to announce his destination.

“I think I know where he is going – but I want to leave the announcement to him or his new employer,” said Rummenigge.

The former Bayern and Germany striker says he holds no ill feeling towards the Spaniard despite his decision to leave.

“He was almost apologetic. I’m not disappointed in him.”

Rummenigge says he was aware that Guardiola would leave as the former Spanish midfielder grew restless in the summer.

“You could read between the lines and that was something that we should have interpreted,” he added.

“We did take note of it, but we just wanted to give him time to make up his mind in peace.”

Former AC Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is set to replace Guardiola next summer.

Ozil in no rush to renew contract with Arsenal

Mesut Ozil is loving life in North London, but insisted that he does not feel any pressure in committing his long-term future to Arsenal.

The German World Cup Winner revealed that he was not in a rush to negotiate a new contract with Arsenal, although Arsenal appeared keen to extend it beyond the current one that ends on June 2018.

“There is no rush to sign a new contract,” Ozil said.

“My current deal runs until 2018. That is still two-and-a-half years. There are no talks at the moment.”

“I can only say that I am very happy in London. My decision to leave Real Madrid for Arsenal was the right one.”

“There has not been a single day, apart from whenever I was injured, that I did not feel great here.”

Ozil was in outstanding form for Arsenal, scoring four times (in all competitions) and assisted 15 times in 16 league appearances this season.

Twitter joins in eSports craze, verifies players accounts

Twitter is the latest thing to join in the thriving hype for eSports.

Scores of professional eSports teams and players were joyfully surprised to find the most coveted checkmark that registers them as verified Twitter users.

Twitter did not discriminate amongst the players either, whether they were playing in the highly acclaimed League of Legends or online card game Hearthstone.

This came after Twitter appointed Rodrigo Velloso as their new Head of Gaming at the widely used social website.

A former director of gaming content at Youtube, he will actively assist Twitter in connecting the enormous pool of active users who affiliate with the gaming community.

Previously there were not any efforts in verifying eSport players, and this change would improve on existing eSports network as well as create new tools that helps the gaming industry in spreading news and information.
