Klay Thompson had been the leading scorer for the Golden State Warriors since the end of their winning streak, with a 43 points netted against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday.
He needed a moment to name NBA’s best shooting guard, considering options such as Chicago Bulls’ Jimmy Butler and Houston Rockets’ James Harden.
But he threw up his hands and said, “I’m going with myself, we’re 26-1.”
“When you play with a free mind and you play thinking you’re not hurt and you’re healthy, that’s when you’re playing your best,” Thompson said. “I want to continue playing like this, get better every month.”
Thompson chose teammate and reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry as the best point guard.
Curry is leading charts right now with 131 3-pointers this season while Thompson is at third place, tied with Kyle Lowry at 80.
Acknowledging that, Thompson said “Right now, Steph’s a better shooter.”
